The unmoved New York didn’t prevent Brazilian designer A.Z. Araujo from showing his Fall Winter 2010 swimwear amassment. Like the combination of pop hits playing during the show, including Kylie Monogue’s “Can’t Get You out of My Head” and Sergio Mendes’s “Magalenha,” Araujo effectively associated the sensuality of Brazilian fashion with the edginess of its New York counterpart. Animal prints, vibrant patterns, and floral, netted dresses were the nave among women’s swimwear.

Aside from the occasional mishap with the combination of tops and pants, Araujo produced exquisite swimsuits opportune for the normal beach experience. These ranged from simple black bikinis to snake print swimsuits with Swarovski crystals. Of note were the asymmetrical cuts featured on some of the tops, which skillfully covered all conspicuous body parts but still left much to the imagination. Cocktail dresses were also..
